There are three documents that everyone should have in place to cover the various aspects of their life should they become incapacitated or die:

1. Your Last Will and Testament is the document dealing with your Testamentary Disposition and Administration of your Estate in the event of your death.
2. Your Enduring Power of Attorney is the document appointing an “Attorney” and give him/her the power to make decisions relating to your financial matters while you are alive (but maybe incapable of doing so yourself).
3. Your Personal Directive is the document stating your views and wishes about the personal care you would like to receive when you are unable to express your wishes, including, possibly, a Living Will.
